Meet the Staff of Tropical Sun Divers…….

Bonnie and Jon Bensman the owners of Tropical Sun Divers, we have been married for 19 years, we have four children, seven grandchildren. In 2006 we started Tropical Sun Divers because we both have been bitten by the diving bug and want to share what we both love… Scuba Diving!

Jon Bensman – Chief Instructor

Jon has been a scuba diver for almost 29 years. He is a qualified dive instructor, dive supervisor, search and rescue diver. Jon is a member of the U.S Army for the past 20 years, he also spent 12 years in the Marine Corps, as a Marine Corps Reconnaissance Combat Diver, and he is former Police Officer in North Carolina, Corrections Officer for a County Sheriff Department

Bonnie Bensman – Advance Open Water, Stress and Rescue Diver, Dive Supervisior Candidate

Bonnie is the human resource person for Tropical Sun Divers. She is in charge of updating all certifications and testing. Bonnie assists in teaching open water and advance open water classes. Bonnie received her open water diver qualification 3 years ago, and has received her advance open water qualification  and stress and rescue certification this past year and is enrolled for her Dive Supervisior certification.

Jessica Rivera – Advance Open Water Diver

Jessie is another one of our staff; she has been diving for over 10 years. In 2006 she received her advance open water qualification and is enrolled in the assistant instructor’s and dive supervisor classes. Jessie also assists in teaching open water and advance classes.
